The story so far……
Prince Albert the newly appointed ‘Lord Protector’ of the United Kingdom, strategy was to take London from his brother King Edward VIII, as in 1643 by a three-pronged attack from his areas of strength – the North, Wales and the West Country. Albert’s Forces and his supporters advanced from Cornwall, through Devon and Somerset and came up against Edwards Loyal forces and Mosley’s BUF on the outskirts of Bath; it was a decisive blow against the forces loyal to the King, causing them to fall back to the safety of Bath, where they hoped to bar the route to Bristol.

Unfortunately for Albert’s forces, Sir Sidney Rough Diamond, their senior General Commanding was badly wounded when a lorry load of improved explosives was set off by a discarded cigarette. The Albertines decided to push on to the nearby pro Albert town of Devizes, taking Sidney with them for treatment at the local hospital. Chancing their luck, Edwards forces struck out at the Albertines rear guard and several skirmishes took place along the road from Chippenham.

Albert’s forces prepared to defend Devizes and started to dig in; as Edwards’s troops arrived on mass, quickly surrounding the town on the hills above. Throughout the night minor probing skirmishes took place, the following day, Edwards’s forces gained foot holds in the outer defenses’ only to be pushed back by the stubborn defenders at great cost.
That was two days ago.

For the Defenders, Time, Rations and 6X are running out, there is a rumor that a relief column is on the way…..can they hold until relieved?

For the Attackers, The rumors are true, as your scouts have reported a large convoy of Albertines forces moving slowly from the direction of Marlborough. Your Generals have ordered a last big push to take Devizes by the end of the day…Will they be back home for tea and medals?

Setting the stage...

The tide turns against Edward and the BUF as the 1930's Cavalry turns up on the flank, the outcome of the Battle is soon decided as it was back in 1643, with Edwards troops routing back to Bath.....This was the start of the downfall of the King in the South West....

A big Thanks to Mick and Chaps (Sorry Memory like a gold fish)...please add names

Regards

Nick

Many thanks chaps, this was my last show game :( I think joining in on the other organised games will be the way for me to go now as we no longer have a car and there is an awful lot of kit needed to put a nice game on (luckily one of the chaps from the local club agreed to take me yesterday).
