Another Phalanx game - project log

Tue Jun 05, 2012 2:56 pm

Alright all

A couple of us from MAWS are putting on a little demo game at Phalanx. Bit of a last minute decision so I'm rushing around now trying to finish stuff. We're only using 30-40 figs per side but I've got to make a load of terrain. I'm hoping that posting wip photos here every couple of days will keep me focussed.

Anyway, a couple of nearly finished units - Wigan Rugby players and Liverpool Soviet-supplied sailors:

Cheers lads. They're 28mm figs - the rugby players are Artizan 8th Army with the gaiters filed off.

See you there, Jerwood. We'll have to try and get a big game sorted at some point, Leeds Fiasco was cracking.

Managed to get a little more done whilst watching the big brother launch. I enjoyed making terrain for the first time - it's nice to feel like you're getting somewhere rather than the soul-destroying feeling of painting beige ammo pouches on the 21st figute in a row!

The windows took longer than I thought they would, especially since they're just going to be filled in with set back windows. I was planning a mill side fascade along one table edge but will have to find another way to do the windows or else ditch it altogether. I don't fancy cutting out another hundred windows

PS. the exercise bike is just a large ornament, a more accurate picture of my lifestyle would have been given by having the gravy-stained polystyrene tray from my pie and chips tea in the photo ;)
