Had my copy delivered yesterday and there is plenty in there for VBCW such as home guard, Boys anti-tank, Blacker Bombard, 2pdr, Vickers light tanks, Vickers 6 ton, A9 Cruiser mkI, Matilda I (and II ;) ), Carden Loyd, Universal Carrier mkI, Rolls Royce armoured car, Lanchester 6x4, Morris CS9 and numerous transport vehicles. It's a very nicely produced book and can be picked up for around £11 (I got mine from The Book Depository with free postage).

I have had a change of mind re these rules and will be trying them out again this Weds with official stats...

Mick

Mines on order. I still prefer either AWAf or WTDW for the period but BA is a good game.

Gents,

Do you think a VBCW army list book would 'fly' for Bolt Action?...British publisher, British company (Warlord) and A Very British Civil War (Solway)?

The key would be to create enough flexibility in the lists to enable troops to be 'personalised' in the VBCW spirit but at the same time build of the extensive backstory in the VBCW source books?

It'd be kinda cool to have a full artwork book in that format with all the themed force possibilities under one or two covers. The caveat being off course, just as it is with BA, is that you can use a generic platoon template for any troops you like, so no one is really restricted if hey want to go it alone.

What do you think?

Cheers

Happy W

Just received my copy today (along with Hail Caesar!) and have had a quick scan through.
I was interested to see that the short Army list and "vehicle builder" I have done for VBCW is pretty much spot on (IMHO).
I disagree with a few "official" stats though ( Vickers VIb rated as "armoured car 7+.... I gave it the benefit of the doubt with light tank 8+) and the Lanchester isn't right. They have given it two turret mounted MMG when in "real life" the 6X4 had a Vickers .5 HMG and a Vickers .303 MMG in the turret as well as a .303 MMG in the front of the fighting compartment ( except for the command version).
Those slight gripes aside a very nice book . I particularly like the separate lists for the different "operations".

To Happy W: I would be very interested in a Bolt Action army book for VBCW, with as much flexibility/free to use what you want as possible. I fear there may not be huge interest however..... Toodle pip!
