Our latest big game kicks off today, so here is a place holder for everyone's reports.

The Anglican League and their Welsh allies continue to advance on the strategic areas along the border by heading for the important bridge at Bredwardine. Meanwhile their thrust towards Titley junction is being answered by a royalist counterattack.

Initial briefings can be seen at http://hereford1938.blogspot.co.uk/2015 ... fings.html (although a reduction in numbers means that we'll be playing over 2 tables, not 3) and a behind the scenes exclusive at http://thelostcityofcarcosa.com/2015/03 ... he-scenes/ .

Breaking news! Welsh and Chinese(!) fall back from Titley under pressure from superior Royalist numbers! BUF and Malvern Hills conservators holding Bredwardine bridge against Anglican onslaught! Royalists clash with Sir Gilbert's forces!
Photographic reports to follow as our correspondents return.

Sir Gilbert's secretary is, as we speak, in conference with M. Samson Picardy (Head of Intelligence Division), preparing the definitive account of today's trial of arms. Suffice it to say that, as always, Sir Gilbert's forces triumphed over those of the usurper.

While Sir Gilbert's Secretary does what she has to do what she has to do!

Lady Maud has penned herself a true account of the day.
Due to a shortage of fuel we were forced to limit speed as we advanced on to the field of battle. This made going slow and held the girls actions restricted. The Old Girls (Commanded by Lady Maud) lead the attack in defense of the field. Our light armoured car dueled with the heavy steam tanks of Sir Gilbert's and saw off one and held the other till the Girls with the Boys (Girls) anti tank rifle blew its cannon off. Sadly both were killed soon afterwards by a mortar shell. The rest of the Upper sixth feed their way through the woods but were stalled by a mob of gangsters all armed with tommy guns! Sadly all the rest were only getting into position before Sir Gilbert and his fellows had to leave the field as they had ran out of steam! The true side of his Majesties servants held the bridge and controlled the vital road and bridge. Glad to see the Lower School had sent some new Girls to help in the fray.

Big thanks to all. Many thanks to Doug for a gentlemanly game and some new dice to buy.

Hip hip and get them!

Obviously Sir Gilbert will in due time refute Lady Maud's hilariously inaccurate report in detail. For now, he must point out that his armoured section actually only has one tank, which did sustain minor damage in the recent engagement. The other vehicle is a lightly armoured car, not a tank.

I must return Tym's generous remarks - it was a splendid game, played in the best possible spirit - even from the fascists :Bgrin So thanks to my opponents, most gallant losers :D , Giles, Richard and Tym. And of course, my heroic allies - Clive and Gavin.

Doug

We had two boards each 10x6' at yesterday's Big Game.

My first few posts will be on the board I was playing on.

In contrast to the comedy postings by Sir Gilbert's eye candy secretary, a fulsome and truthful account of the set up can be found here:

http://thelostcityofcarcosa.com/2015/03/15/avbcw-big-game-2015-03-14-part-1/

More objective reporting of the true outcome will follow.
