Does anyone know of any VBCW type rules that do not involve shooting to kill? I would like to get my grandchildren involved in game, but I think it might be easier if no fatalities were involved. I have a vague recollection of reading somewhere about a game in which the object was to capture the Empress of Blandings, but nothing concrete. Somethin in the slapstick style of PG Wodehouse would be good. Any suggestions would be welcome!

Angelo, the Blandings games you are after are on my Blog, Talesfromghq, if you google it. The post is called Pig Whoooey and is the most visited page of the blog! We used Astounding Tales for the rules with each player controlling a character or two trying to nab the Empress. The event cards I made are on the post I think. Hope this helps!

I ran a Dads Army participation game at a show a year and a half ago using the Pulp Alley rules but rather than figures getting killed they just dropped a die type then surrendered to the enemy after reaching the lowest die.
