The VBCW Society

Well that's what i'll call it till some one comes up with a better title!

Whats this all about then?

Communication

Of late its proved quite trickey having the time to keep up with the various forums in quite the way I use to, so im looking for a way to communicate and discuss the ways Solway is developing the VBCW project, A newsletter to interested parties might be a help

Campaign- The Disunited States of Britain

As a way of developing ideas and campaigns for a continuing narrative, I would like to try and set up a play by email campaign, with members playing the role of a faction in a particular county. It will move the clock on a couple of years, so we don't step on existing campaigns, but tech will be frozen pretty much at 1938 levels and due to other pressures actually things will have become generally more Heath Robinson! Each faction will have an embryonic state to control and then its all about alliances, diplomacy, supplies and the occasional battle.

Weekends

Ive twisted the arm of a friend, who happens to have a rather nice semi converted barn close to Hadrian's wall, to let me run some gaming weekends, these I hope will be like a number of other event games a way of generating more vbcw history and heroics

Shows

Id like to work with a group of people round the country to make sure that high quality VBCW games continue to be seen on the show circuit promoting the cause.

Special Deals

As well as an email news letter members will hopefully get a few perks such as a discount on pre order of new book titles

Other than that its all about promoting the wacky world of VBCW!

So if you are interested, of sound mind (optional!) , good character and old enough to legally buy a round (drink rather than 303!) drop us an email at [email protected]

Simon - all sounds a reasonable way to promote things - if you are after a register of those who are actively playing / representing the period that's fine - but it may be a very small number of folk in reality! We have floated a number of attempts collectively to get people together to play bigger games - the pay to play options, the geographical North / South / Midlands divides etc over the years - but they haven't really had massive responses.

You were going to run a newsletter for "Albion Divided" as I recall - we had one issue then it sort of faded (or was it just I wasn't on a mailing list?) - but as one of the more higher profile folk on here happy to do what I can to keep the faith.

Little bit worried about the

Count me in dear heart.

Some aspects I'll have to give a miss eg weekends and shows other than Phalanx at St Helens (plans afoot for a 20mm VBCW game in 2014). The newsletter could be interesting and the campaign intrigueing.
