This idea came up by chance a couple of weeks back and I think it is time to fully launch it. So what is the idea PK I hear you shout and I am glad you asked as my idea is quite simple. Most of us have being playing and building armies for some time now and I think it would be a cracking idea if we showed off these armies and collections in their full glory. So here is your change to photo all your little chaps and post post them here.

What I might do is ask people to vote for the best collection too, so what do you think and what are you waiting for, post your VBCW collections.

PK

I'll post a review as soon as I can. In the meantime, my first unit from 2009.

2009, that must be one of the first VBCW armies :)

Well, I was in early, but I'm sure there are people who started earlier.

I don't know about voting for the "Best " collection as this topic works on so many levels. Voting for one's favourite might work? Then it could be on concept, background, painting or presentation perhaps , or even daftest and most Heath Robinson.

I am in!

I have not even managed to get a game in yet, but the collection is progressing nicely.
I am on to the fourth faction now, althoulgh there are still a few bits to add to each force.
I have a feeling that a faction will never be 'finished', just awaiting reinforcements.... :D

I shall get some pictures of what I have so far over the weekend.

Let's see if this works ...... I've got an album with most of my VBCW forces in it up on Photobucket and apparently if I just paste this little bit then there'll be a link to a slide show so dull that it will seem like your dreadful geography teacher is providing an in depth slide show of interesting funghi of Dunstable.......

http://s575.photobucket.com/user/mudcow304/slideshow/1938%20A%20Very%20British%20Civil%20War/1938%20VBCW%20A%20very%20British%20Civil%20War

Alternatively there's a few my forces below (I can't find photos of some of them), I've put thumbnails up but if you click on them they should link to the full size image:

The Longhoughton Defence Volunteers:

Air Support for the Longhoughton Defence Volunteers:

Lord Percy, Duke of Northumberland and his retinue of manservants, gamekeepers and chums

Some not very nice BUF types:

The Ashington Coal Collective:

and their mounted infantry:

The Northumbria Constabulary:

My Regular army force ....... with a smattering of reservists in there that might look a little like the Home Guard.

I'm a VBCW "veteran", in at the start on The Gentlemans Wargames Parlour. I chose to game VBCW in 20mm, as I had some BEF and Homeguard figures and models gathering dust, since then its gone berserk. Loads of units, vehicles (LFS, Government forces, BUF and an Italian Blackshirt Expeditionary force) and OO gauge railway buildings which are ideal for VBCW. Rows and rows of terraces along with factories and their chimneys (but lacking the smoke and smells). I have more of everything waiting to be painted and buildings to be renovated and new builds.

I'll take some new photos over the weekend of the units all laid out, maybe some close-ups. Whats the capacity of the site?? :)

Heres a few of my first things painted;

Just odd things. I've not done many photos of single units up t now. More to come...........

Very early VBCW pictures taken in my house in Lancashire. We outlined the 1st book in that room and thought printing 250 books would be ok as we'd sell about 200!
I still use all those figures, even after all these years I only have 3 platoons of VBCW figures.
